ANNABELLE KAY REISER

Annabelle Kay Reiser joined our family on Sunday 1/27/08 at 5:19am. She weighed 6lbs 5oz and is 19 inches long.

She surprised us as we had a baby shower Saturday afternoon and decided that we should get the rest of our baby stuff to prepare for her birth. We went shopping at Babies R Us and got the rest of the stuff on our registry. I felt my first real contraction while Brent was putting the baby supplies in the trunk. I tried telling Brent I just had a contraction and he didn't believe me. He thought I was reacting to the amount of money we had just spent. :)

We then wanted to get some dinner and go to Target to get the rest of our stuff. When I got out of the car my water broke. Brent didn't beleive me again. He was asking me if I was sure I didn't pee my pants. It was annoying at the time but quite funny now. So we got back in the car and I called the hospital to ask them when I needed to go in. They told me ASAP.

So we went home and put all of Annabelle's stuff in her room and went to the hospital. I was in shock a little because everyone thought I was going to go over my due date not a week and a half under it. I thought I had a few more weeks to prepare.

My contractions started as soon as my water broke and by the time we were admitted into Labor and Delivery they were coming on pretty strong and regularly. After 3 hours of going medically free I decided I needed an epidural. I will do the rest of my pregnancies with an epidural. They are lovely.

At 3:30am I wanted to know how far I had progressed and the Dr. said we were going to have a baby. It took some time after that for them to prepare everything and for the Dr. to come back. I pushed for 50min-1 hour and then we had Annabelle. It was all so surreal.

As you can see from the pics she is gorgeous. She has lots of black hair and pretty long eyelashes. She has been an angel. She has her days confused with her nights right now. But that's OK. We have fun.
